Description
Learn how to paper piece NY Beauty blocks and Flying geese with the Quiltworx technique. In this class we will work through each of the units with floating points and curving geese, so you will learn how to piece a gentle curve. Our demonstrations will be filmed, and you will have access to all those tutorials when class is over, so that you can finish the project at home with the help you need. That’s right – a full day 8 hour class with “forever” video instruction for just $40! Where else can you find such a bargain?
We will start class with a little fabric prep, but you must have the pattern papers cut and bagged according to the pattern instructions prior to class. Upon registering, you will have access to downloadable PDF files that will help you through the preparation process, and of course, you can always get in touch with Donna via email or text for any additional help you may need.
We will use template layout sheets to cut our fabric pieces from the prepared fabric strips during class, so no need to do that ahead of time. However, you will have to copy and prepare the template layout sheets by printing them from the PDF files. The pattern includes them printed on both sides of larger than legal size pages; so without the PDF files, you will have to take them somewhere to be copied. We’ve done the work for you, and made them convenient to download and print in your own home on 8.5″ x 11″ paper!
New to Zoom? Not to worry!! We can make it easy for you – and set up a private zoom session with you prior to class so you can get used to using the program in your own sewing space!
The “Dancing Batik” pattern is available at Quiltworx.com/Dancing Batiks , and you may even be able to find enough fabric in your stash to make this quilt! We simplified the instructions a bit by using just 8 batik fabrics (3/4 yard of each), along with 2.5 yards of black, 2.5 yards of white and 1/2 yard of fabric for the binding of your choice. So dig around in your stash and grab a pattern to join us on a lazy Saturday.
We won’t tell anyone if you quilt all day in your pajamas! LOL
