Description
This quilt was done in a Masquerade workshop in 2016. Students were given this simple worksheet describing how a log cabin block is constructed, and giving fabric yardage suggestions. All the students built their quilts out of fabric from their stash! This is a fun concept to play with. You can cut your logs in any variation that you want. The pattern suggests 1 1/4″ skinny logs and 1 3/4″ fat logs, but you can make cutting easier for yourself with 1″ skinny and 2″ fat logs. The bigger difference between log sizes will make a more pronounced “curve” in your quilt. There is no formal pattern, so I am offering this fun design for free!
NOTE: Make sure to trim your blocks square before you assemble them – even if only a sliver from each edge! See the pictures in our gallery.
