Description
This beginner quilt is stunning and finishes to 80 x 80 with foundation paper piecing using 48 jelly roll strips, a little extra yardage and a few curved seams to put together 25 Shimmering Star diamond blocks. Island Batiks offers 48 piece strip sets designed by Judy Neimeyer for a quilt like this. The sets are already color coordinated and stacked for you, so there is little guess work when preparing your project. If you want to use your own strips to achieve the same glowing look, you will need 6 groups of 8 strips that are sorted from light to dark.

In class we will work on piecing the diamond blocks, then adding some template cut borders to those blocks. We will also piece part of the striped border before class is over. You will go home with the knowledge to complete your project on your own, with video tutorials available to reference.
We have all the machines and tools you will need in our Salem NH studio, so no need to pack up your own and drag them all to class (unless you really want to). Of course if you choose to participate via zoom, then you will already have everything you need at your fingertips! Make sure you have a good internet connection and that your device can be plugged in during class.
