FMQ class – “Dream Big”

The Hoffman Fabric panel by Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero has become quite popular lately!  We have the opal colorway in our studio available as a complete kit that includes the panel, backing and batting for just $40.  (kit fee payable in cash on day of class)

Maybe you have already purchased this panel – but just haven’t had the chance or the courage to get started.  No worries – just bring your own panel already sandwiched with the batting and backing of your choice and all you have to pay is the class fee!

We are offering a 6 hour class to get you started on your free motion journey to a masterpiece that you will be very proud to display or give as a gift.  During this class you will begin by following the printed picture on the panel and outlining your flower petals.  Then you will choose some different ways to fill in those petals.  We will cover stenciling, following the line on printed stabilizer, using disappearing ink to draw directly on the fabric, filling in backgrounds, and just “winging it” – to complete your project.  When purchasing a seat in this class, you will have access to a downloadable file that has examples of some completed panels.

Light snacks, water and iced tea will be provided to keep us going, and you are welcome to bring a lunch if you wish.  We provide a few different modern machine options: 2 Janome 6260 Quilter’s Companion machines, 1 Pfaff 2170 Creative machine and a Bernina Q20 sit down longarm machine; however, if you feel more comfortable using your own machine, you are welcome to bring it along.

This class is all about NO STRESS and learning to QUILT YOUR OWN QUILT – it’s such a beautiful panel – you really can’t go wrong with this one!  So slip out of your comfort zone and come play with us in our “Lazy Saturday” Salem NH studio!

NH is too far for you?!  NO worries!  We also offer a ZOOM connection to class for those who want to join us, but can’t make the trip.  Make sure your home machine is in good working order – and that you have a couple full bobbins, and your machine set with the feed dogs down and the darning foot already installed.  We can all get started quilting at the same time!
