This 3 hour workshop will be a chance for you to learn how to foundation paper piece with the Quiltworx method.  You will use a template layout sheet to cut background fabric.  You will learn how to cut and sort papers, and piece floating points, using the Charm Elements #3 pack by Quiltworx along with (4) 10″ blocks of fabric for the background, and (4) 2.5″ x WOF strips for the spikes.  The element #3 pack comes with enough papers to make 20 blocks, so you could share it with a friend – or use the entire package to make a bigger project.  Quiltworx is also coming out with a pattern called “Haystack Cookies” which will have enough papers to create 10 blocks – so half the size of the Charm Elements #3 pack – and half the price as well!  This new pattern will be available in late March 2024.  Click on this link to purchase when we have them in stock:

We will piece 4 blocks to put them together into a 12″ pillow. If you really enjoy making these blocks, you can keep going and make 18 blocks to create a table runner or 3 placemats.  You can also purchase more CE #3 packs to continue making blocks that can be put together into a quilt – of any size!!  Check out our gallery to see some different colorways that we created.  The possibilities are endless!

Donna has created a video tutorial to show you how to put a pillow together without needing a zipper – so you will be able to remove your quilt block pillow cover for laundering.  After class is over, you will get a video tutorial link on how to prepare your pattern, and also how to do the piecing – so you can have a nice recap of the class to do more work on your own.
